ABOUT

STORY
For as long as I can remember, I have loved the journey of a candle. I could watch them burn for hours. I'd like to think it is something to do with being born a Fire sign, but I think this fascination might be something innate in all of us.
Harnessing fire is a powerful process. To do so with love and peace in mind is even more special. I began making beeswax candles as a hobby to destress and facilitate my love for the natural world and crafting little beautiful things.
In 2024, I decided to share it with my community.

THE PEITEAL GARDEN
For many years, my husband's grandparents lived in a house in Slane. Bill was a botanist and took great joy in curating an incredible garden. He lined the property with native evergreens, exotic acers and a majestic smoke bush.
Mary loved bees, so Bill filled the garden with cornflowers, spiraea, geraniums and roses to attract fat bumblebees right to the front window. There was a pond, bright white camelias and supple magnolias. The garden was filled with wildlife, redbreast robins and blue tits, insects and the odd pine martin.
After their passing, the home stayed in the family and in 2023 my husband and I moved into the home and became the custodians of the wonderful garden.
It is a privilege and a joy to care for this land and it makes me so happy to be able to share little pieces of it with the world.

COLLABORATIONS

ART DOVE
Art Dove is the work of my incredibly talented mother, Jillian Anderson. She creates beautiful and vibrant pieces usually featuring stunning florals. In 2024, my mum created the Peiteal series - twelve paintings championing many of the flowers that I use on my candles.
My online and market stores feature Mum's art as prints, posters, cards and more.
